What recycling and organics services are required for my business?

California law (AB 341, AB 1826, and SB 1383) requires businesses to recycle and divert organic waste.

This generally includes:

Requirements vary based on waste generation and business type.

Can I dispose of Hazardous Waste through my commercial service??

No — hazardous waste is not accepted in your regular commercial bins.


Items like chemicals, paints, solvents, batteries, and other hazardous materials require special handling and cannot be collected through standard trash, recycling, or organics service.


Commercial hazardous waste must be handled through an approved facility.

Ultimately, the business or property owner is responsible for compliance.
